Abstract

The activity of CIDETEC’s Ceramic Surfaces Unit is aimed at improving corrosion, tribological and other specific properties of different metal substrates using electrophoretic deposition processes, starting from the formulation of ceramic suspensions based on advanced enamels and ceramic compounds designed for each application required (chemical, petrochemical, automotive, machine-tool, biomedical, etc).

CIDETEC has created two spin-offs from these developments: KERA-COAT, offering R&D services to solve the customer’s needs on required coating properties, and TUBACOAT, focusing on advanced ceramic coatings for tubular systems.

Our developments not only rest at laboratory testing, but we also have the possibility of scaling-up these processes, because we have pilot plants where to manufacture real pieces and yield results directly to industry.
