Abstract
The interest of M. Federica De Riccardis is focused on functional coatings based on ceramics, polymers and nanocomposite materials. Her activities on EPD started in 2002 and were especially devoted to investigating some post-deposition processes such as electron beam and laser beam treatments, in order to improve the coating densification and its adhesion to a substrate.
She supervises the activities of the “Electrosynthesis Laboratory” of ENEA where, in addition to EPD, other “electric” deposition methods (Electrolytic Deposition, Electrospinning, Electrospraying, Electrospark Deposition) are used in order to deposit materials in the form of thin films. In the last years, her studies have been devoted to materials for energy applications, such as electrodes for batteries and supercaps, membranes and separators, nanoparticles and nanofluids.
